James will miss the Lakers' early game of the new season. Arenas discussed the timing of James' return on his show, "The Gilbert Arenas Show."

Arenas said: "He proved it, right? 'You guys need me.' If your team wins 10, 11, 12 games, he's going to keep rehabbing. What's the media going to do when they're winning? All the LeBron haters are going to say, 'Look, the Lakers are better without him.' He's during the winning streak. He will be criticized in various ways. But if the team loses after he comes back, it will be his fault. So he has to play a psychological game, 'We are going to play against a weak team, such as the Hornets, Trail Blazers, etc., I will come back in this kind of game, or wait until you lose three or four games in a row. This will at least appear to be helpful to the team.'"
