Not being a head coach? Champion coach Ma Long joins ESPN program full-time in the new season as an analyst
ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro revealed at the front Office Sports summit Tuned In Summit that former Nuggets coach Mike Malone will join ESPN pre-match program "NBA Countdown" full-time in the 2025-26 season as an analyst.
"We just brought in Michael Malone. He will join this team," Jimmy Pitaro said of NBA Countdown.
Last season, with less than a week left in the regular season, the Nuggets made a shocking decision to fire Michael Malone. The champion coach soon found a "new home" and joined the ESPN program "NBA Countdown" to participate in the Western Conference Finals coverage.
Michael Malone is 54 years old and has served as an assistant coach for the Knicks, the Cavaliers, Hornets and Warriors in the NBA. He has successively become the head coach of the Kings and the Nuggets, and won the first championship in team history for the Nuggets in 2023.
