Recently, Celtics reporter Brian Robb wrote an article about the possible operations of the team.

Brian Robb said: "My current guess is that the Celtics will free up the last roster to save taxes. This will give them 13 healthy players in the absence of Tatum, but the team has three two-way contract players who can replenish depth at any time when other injuries come.

"If the Celtics do end up completing an operation like signing Ben Simmons, I wouldn't be surprised if the team tries to trade another contract before the opening game to lower the roster to 14.

"The Celtics can also cut players like Jordan Walsh before the opening game, and if he performs poorly in the preseason, it will only produce a small salary shock, but after his summer league performance, it seems unlikely to happen at the moment."
