39-year-old veteran Belinelli updated his social media today and officially announced the news of his retirement.

Berlinelli wrote on his personal social media: "I gave my sincerity to basketball.

" My whole body and mind.

"Every day.

"Basketball gave me everything...I gave everything.

"Saying goodbye is not easy.

" But it's time.

"I will leave with every emotion, every sacrifice, every cheer.

"Thanks to those who have always believed in me.

"To the next generation-I left a dream.

"Let it work. ”

Berlinelli played for Bologna last season, helping the team win the Serie A championship. In June this year, Bologna's general manager confirmed that Belinelli will retire in an interview. Today, the veteran officially announced the news.
