Barcelona sports director Deco confirmed in an interview that the club's contract extension with midfielder De Jong is close to completion.

Deco said: "De Jong changed his agent before, and we have been waiting for this problem to be resolved. This contract extension has nothing to do with money. We have now entered the final stage and will be completed soon."

Previously reported that De Jong's annual salary will be approximately 12 million euros after the contract extension.
