Newcastle legend Alan Shearer revealed that due to a conflict in the schedule, he will not be able to watch Newcastle's first Champions League game this season.

Mid week, Newcastle will return to the Champions League, with its first match against La Liga champion Barcelona at home. But by then, the famous Shearer will not appear at St. James Park Stadium.

Sheer said on The Rest is Football podcast: "The Premier League fan event in the United States has already been scheduled. I'm going to Kansas, and the flight is on the day of the game. Do you dare believe it? I'm going to miss this game, it's a nightmare arrangement."
