Subotic said: "The most intense argument I had with a player in my career, he later went to Dortmund, the striker who has now moved to England, was Phil Kruger. During a corner kick in a game, he pushed me and I thought: 'Well, this happens all the time, after all, we are in the penalty area.' But then he Staring at me and being rude. I was thinking: 'Who do you think you are? ' I have never seen any professional player act like this, especially if there was no situation like me or my teammates fouling him or something like that. I wanted to know what his opinion was."
However, Subotic did not specify which game. Subotic and Phil Kruger played against each other three times in total, two of which were when Subotic represented Dortmund against Phil Kruger's Werder Bremen (2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons), and one was when Subotic played for Union Berlin (2019/20 season).
