When Real Madrid defeated Juventus 1-0 in the previous 1/8 final, Arnold also gave an assist and Gonzalo Garcia scored a header.

Before the Club World Cup, Real Madrid paid 10 million euros to Liverpool and signed Arnold in advance. In Real Madrid's five Club World Cup games, Arnold started all of them.

After winning streak of Juventus and Dortmund, Real Madrid has won a promotion bonus of US$34.12 million (approximately EUR 28.97 million) in the Club World Cup knockout round, far exceeding the amount spent on buying out Arnold.
