Durant mentioned Michael Jordan in the Mind the Game podcast, and praised James. "Some people said, 'I want to play baseball, and then I want to come back and play basketball'. Some people said, 'I want to play for 22 years (hint on James).'"

This made a fan uncomfortable, trying to call Durant a "puppet" on the podcast show, and he said James' transfer to the Miami Heat ruined his career. He also reiterated why Jordan left the basketball court twice. Durant then fought back.

"Jordan has retired three times. Brother, it's okay if you dare to say this, but I have Jordan shoes worth one million dollars in my family, hahaha. It's okay, he retired three times, but he's still an 'annoying' guy. I applaud him, I applaud his 22-year elite basketball career. I like basketball, you just like this person more," Durant wrote on social media.

Jordan's former champion teammate Ron Harper stood up on social media to respond to Durant.

"I'm going to say a few words for the Bulls. If Jordan hadn't retired three times, he would have won more goals than you guys," Harper wrote.
