The Athletic reported that Via Jr. is undergoing a physical examination in Marseille and is about to transfer from Juventus.

The US international will join Marseille on loan, with the lease period covering the 2025-26 season. Marseille will pay an initial fee of 1 million euros and will come with a mandatory buyout clause of 14 million euros, which will take effect after the loan period expires. The agreement between the two clubs also includes an additional bonus clause of up to €3 million, while Juventus will retain a 15% share of the player's future transfer fee.

Earlier this summer window, Juventus had negotiated with Nottingham Forest on a transfer on Via, but ultimately failed to reach an agreement. The player, whose contract lasted until 2028, finally chose Marseille.

Via, 25, joined Juventus from Lille in the summer of 2023 for about 12 million euros. He has played 78 first-team games for Juventus so far, scoring 7 goals. He participated in the Club World Cup held in the United States with Juventus, but only got one 45-minute appearance opportunity.

While playing for Juventus, Weiah served as a left and right winger, right back and wingback, but his most natural position was still the winger.

The US international has played 44 games and scored 7 goals for the senior team since completing his national team's debut in 2018. As they switch to Marseille, it is a critical year for the US national team, and they will co-host the 2026 World Cup.
