In the first round of La Liga, Osasuna lost 0-1 to Real Madrid away. Osasuna defender Bretons was sent off with a red card in stoppage time and faced two bans. According to World Sports, Osasuna will appeal to reduce the penalty for players.

Last night, the Spanish Football Association's Disciplinary Committee not only rejected Osasuna's complaint against Bretons being sent off by a red card at the Bernabeu Stadium, but also imposed a two-game suspension based on the code of discipline. The committee believes that Bretons' foul on Gonzalo is beyond the scope of the game. The two bans mean that Bretons will miss this weekend's match against Valencia and a away challenge to Espanyol at the end of August. Considering the subsequent national team match day, Bretons will not return until September 14 against Vallecano.

If Braetons wants to play this weekend, Osasuna needs to apply for a relief from the Football Association Committee or the Sports Arbitration Tribunal. First, for the Appeal Board, if the club wishes to receive a commutation in the next round, it must file an appeal by 2 p.m. on Thursday. If the appeal is submitted before 2 pm on Thursday, the answer will be received at the latest at 10 am the next day; if the appeal is submitted before 8 pm on Thursday, the results will be announced at the latest at 2 pm on Friday; if this time exceeds, it will not be resolved before the next round of the game starts.

The Appeal Board has the potential to reduce the penalty from two to one because the Disciplinary Committee has imposed a penalty in accordance with the moderate degree of violence in the game in the Code of Discipline, which stipulates that the penalty is one to three games. Therefore, there is still room for a sentence reduction in the current two bans.
