James: When I was a kid, I dreamed that I played in the NBA, but when I was in high school I realized that I could make a living by playing basketball
Today, the first episode of the interview program "The Main Thing" hosted by Lakers forward James was aired.
Recalling his fame experience, James said: "I became a professional player at the age of 18, but I started playing organized basketball and sports games at about 8 years old. I almost immediately knew that I enjoyed playing sports."
When asked if he knew that he would make a living in sports at a very young age, James said: "No, I didn't think of this before high school. I just entered high school, too Maybe after my first or second season in high school, I thought, ‘Oh, wow. I’m really good at playing. If I continue to put my time and energy into it, maybe I can make a name for it.’
“Even when I was younger, before I thought there would be some prospects, I had those dreams, dreaming that I was playing in the NBA, playing in the All-Star Game, dreaming that I made a buzzer-beating goal, and the audience was crazy about it. But I had these dreams when I was 9 or 10, before I thought that there might be a future for myself to play. But when I was about 15, 16, when those discussions started, I said to myself, ‘Okay, then let’s put it all in. ’”
