According to European media reports, guard Jared Butler, who was just waived by the Suns, finally chose to leave the NBA and join the European team Red Star Belgrade.

After being waived by the Suns, Partizan Belgrade and Olympiacos both seriously considered signing Butler, but the latter finally chose the Red Stars. This will be Butler's first trip to Europe to play.

Butler was selected by the Pelicans with the 40th overall pick in the 2021 draft. He has played 148 games in his career, averaging 6.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. In a preseason game before being waived, Butler scored 35 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists against the Lakers.
